Many prospective patients ask whether, after a BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift), stomachs look flatter. The BBL is rapidly becoming a very popular surgery amongst women everywhere. The procedure enhances the buttocks to create a feminine, curvy shape. It is an ideal surgery for women with a flat bottom or who lack feminine curves. Often, women who undergo a BBL have wider body contouring goals. They don’t just want to achieve a curvy, rounded bottom. They also want a slimmer waist and a flatter stomach. So, is the Brazilian Butt Lift enough on its own to achieve this goal?
The BBL and Fat Harvesting
The BBL is a two-part surgery. First, the surgeon harvests fat from another area of the body. The surgeon harvests the fat via liposuction. They choose an area of the patient’s body that has sufficient excess fat to harvest. Often, this area will be the abdominal area, as many women have excess fat here. The surgeon treats and purifies the fat before injecting it into the buttocks to create a rounded shape. If the surgeon harvests the fat from the waist and stomach area, the tummy may appear flatter. Whether the stomach looks flatter, though, depends on where the surgeon takes the fat from. Sometimes, the surgeon may take the fat from the back, the thighs, or the flanks. As a result, the stomach will remain the same after the procedure.

Do I Need Another Procedure as Well as a Bbl to Flatten My Stomach?
Whether you’ll need another procedure to flatten your stomach depends on what your stomach looks like to begin with. If you have excess fat on your stomach, the surgeon can harvest the fat from this area using liposuction. They can then inject that fat into the buttocks for the second stage of the BBL. That should help create a flatter, tauter stomach paired with larger, curvier buttocks.
However, you may have another additional reason for your stomach not being flat. Some women have loose stomach muscles or excess skin that make their stomach appear large or saggy. The BBL procedure, even with stomach lipo as part of the procedure, won’t entirely flatten the stomach in such cases. If you have excess skin as well as excess fat or have loose stomach muscles, you may need an abdominoplasty. An abdominoplasty or tummy tuck will address all of these issues to create a tauter, flatter stomach.
You can have an abdominoplasty and a BBL during the same procedure. However, you must seek out a surgeon who is skilled and experienced. The ArtLipo team in Tampa, Florida, is an excellent choice.
