How Long Do I Need to Wear a Chin Strap for After Surgery?
Immediately after your surgery, your surgeon will fit you with your chin strap. You must wear it 24 hours a day for the first week after your procedure. After that, you will need to wear the compression strap for some of the time. Usually, you will need to continue wearing it at night for another two or three weeks. You will, however, be able to remove it when washing or showering.
