Many women are unhappy with the appearance of their breasts. Gravity, nursing, pregnancy, and aging can all have a negative effect on their shape and size. Over time, your skin loses elasticity and, as a result, breasts lose their firmness and shape. It’s no wonder, then, that so many women start to become unhappy with the way they look. Clothing no longer seems to fit so well, and wearing a swimsuit is usually a thing of the past. If this sounds familiar to you, arranging a breast lift in Tampa could be the perfect solution.

The effects of sagging and drooping breasts go far beyond physical appearance. When women no longer like what they see when they look in the mirror, poor self-image is the result. This lack of self-confidence can take its toll on all areas of life. And, it can have a negative effect on relationships.

Here at ArtLipo, we help women who want to improve their appearance and their self-confidence. Our skilled cosmetic surgeons can help to restore self-esteem by carrying out breast lift surgery. Our impressive results can give you back your youthful physique and help you feel good about yourself again.

What Does A Breast Lift In Tampa Involve?

Here at ArtLipo, we carry out three different types of breast lift surgery.

The first is our Lollipop Lift procedure. This involves making a keyhole incision around the areola’s perimeter then down vertically to the breast crease. This procedure is ideal for many women and is our most common breast lift surgery.

Our second option is to use an Anchor Incision. This extends around the areola’s perimeter before moving down vertically to the breast crease. Then, it moves along it horizontally. Here at ArtLipo, we rarely use this technique. This is because the procedure produces more scarring. It is, therefore, only suitable for women who have very severe sagging. When a less invasive technique cannot resolve sagging, the Anchor Incision is the only option.

A third option is a Donut Lift. This is sometimes called a Periareolar Incision or Benelli Lift. Here at ArtLipo, we occasionally use this incision, which is only made around the areola’s perimeter. We use this technique on women who have a mild or moderate amount of breast sagging.

We carry out breast lift surgery under a general anesthetic or under intravenous sedation in our outpatient surgery center. Our skilled cosmetic surgeons choose the most appropriate technique for you depending on several factors. These include:

  • Breast shape
  • Breast size
  • Areola size
  • Areola position
  • Skin quality
  • Amount of sagging
  • Skin elasticity
  • Amount of extra skin

During the procedure, your cosmetic surgeon will remove excess skin and shift the areola and nipple to a higher position. Women who have stretched areolae can have them reduced. We can bring skin that was originally above the areola down and together below the breast, thus reshaping it effectively. We complete the procedure by closing the incisions with deep sutures supporting the new position of the breast.

Although the surgery does produce scars, these are typically hidden below the breasts. Scarring around the areolae is usually very light. Since the areolae and nipples stay attached to the underlying tissue, the sensation is usually preserved. This means that breastfeeding is also usually possible.

Am I A Good Candidate For A Breast Lift?

If you’re considering a breast lift, you’re probably wondering if you’re a good candidate for surgery.

Ideal mastopexy patients are healthy and have a stable body weight. Usually, women who are looking for this surgery have concerns about one or more of the following:

  • Sagging breasts that lack volume and shape.
  • Elongated, pendulous or flat breasts
  • Nipples that fall below the crease of the breasts.
  • Downward-pointing nipples
  • Enlarged areolas
  • Stretched skin
  • One breast that droops lower than the other.

How Long Will It Be After Breast Lift Surgery Before Life Returns To Normal?

Thanks to our skilled surgeons and advanced techniques, you can expect to return to normal activities very quickly. Most women can go back to work within a couple weeks, although they should avoid strenuous physical activity. You should be gentle when handling your breasts for around a month and avoid sexual activity for one to two weeks. We recommend wearing a supportive bra for the first few weeks.

At first, you will probably experience reduced sensation around your areolae and nipples. However, this is usually temporary. Eventually, the sensation will return to normal. When it comes to appearance, your breasts can take some time before returning to a natural shape. The incision scars will also stay pink or red for a few months. Periodic mild discomfort is normal for the first few weeks. However, you should not experience any severe pain.

When you let our experienced and talented cosmetic surgeons perform your breast lift, the results will be long-lasting. As long as you experience no major weight increases or decreases or become pregnant, your breasts will stay looking fantastic.
